What are the other names for Gel Badges?

They are also known as polydomes, dome labels, domed labels, 3D stickers 3D bubbled labels and bubble labels.

 

What is the difference between vinyl stickers and resin domed labels?

Visually there is a noticeable difference between polydome labels and vinyl stickers. While a standard vinyl label is flat and 2D when applied, these labels have an impressive 3D ‘bubble’ appearance due to the resin applied on top of a standard label. Liquid plastic is poured on top which flows to the edges of the label, creating a plastic dome shape.

 

How does the printing process for resin domed labels work?

They are normal labels that have had a polyurethane dome applied to the surface by using our label doming equipment. The original sticker can be printed using any process from lithography to screen printing, from digital processes to flexo. We can make almost any label you may already have a Polydomed finish as well as creating a new designs.

 

Why use resin domed labels?

Polyurethane labels provide a low cost, high-quality enhancement of your brand identity; our 3D bubble labels and badges will help to turn your lifeless 2D labels into a quality branding tool. Plus not only do they make your products brand look better they can last in harsh environments, due to the resin doming giving the label a scratch-resistant coating.

In terms of printing, bubble labels are extremely versatile; from full-colour photographs to a brushed metallic look, we can print almost any design in any quantity you desire. They can be produced in all manner of shapes as long as the design has a curved corner to allow the resin to flow too. This can include internal cutouts that can be commonly seen in the cosmetic retail display stands.

What background options do you offer?

We offer a range of background options on our resin domed stickers including metallic, matte and high gloss. All our stickers are printed on vinyl.

Is the doming resin scratch-proof?

We cannot promise that our doming will never scratch as anything is scratch resistant. However, the nature of the doming helps resist scratches.

Is your doming resin mercury-free?

Yes all our resin is mercury free.

How thick is your domed resin coating?

This can vary dependent on the type of resin and the size of the label. As with most standard resin domed labels, our standard amount is 1.5mm. The maximum size of stickers is 100mm square.

What shapes do you provide the stickers in?

We do a variety of shapes and sizes and you can have whatever shape you require as long as any detail is greater than 3mm
